Permanent Makeup by Dunja

Questions

WHAT IS PERMANENT MAKEUP?

Also known as Electropigmentation, Micropigmentation and Semi-Permanent makeup. This procedure is what bridges the gap between Plastic Surgery and corrective cosmetic non-surgical techniques. This cosmetic procedure uses advanced techniques to implant sterilized pigments into the ‘shallow’ dermal layer of the skin.

WHAT ABOUT HEALTH AND SAFETY?

The technology used in these procedures is state of the art. The pigment delivery is recognized as one of the safest on the market today. The applicators used during the procedure are sterile, individually packaged and intended for one time use only. This is always demonstrated to clients at the end of each treatment.

WHY DO I NEED A CONSULTATION PRIOR TO TREATMENT?

Not sure if Semi-Permanent Make-up is for you? The consultation is your opportunity to discuss your treatment plan with your technician to determine how much of a change you are willing to make. Our knowledgeable and talented artists can help you decide the semi-permanent make up that suits your hair, skin tone, features, image and lifestyle. Our artistic approach and recognition of beauty helps transform a shared vision into reality. With a history of tens of thousands of treatments throughout the world, Dunja’s methods are proven and timeless.

HOW LONG DOES THE PROCEDURE TAKE?

An initial 30 minute in-depth consultation is required. First, to discuss in detail your desired outcomes and what you want to achieve. Then Dunja will assess your skin tone, features and face shape taking into consideration the overall effect you would like. Suggestions regarding shape, colour and realistic effects that are possible will also be discussed. Finally, a simple patch test is carried out. For the actual application of the Permanent Makeup, Dunja allows from 90mins to 120 minutes for the initial treatment, and the same time for the follow up treatment.

HOW LONG WILL IT LAST?

Enhancements can last from 1 to 5 years depending on factors such as age, exposure to UV light and swimming. Most clients require 2 initial sessions to complete the treatment. To maintain the colour intensity of your enhancement, it is recommended to return for a retouch every 12 months. These touch-ups take much less time to complete and are priced accordingly.

WILL IT LOOK NATURAL?

Yes, the healed result will look very natural. Remember, your permanent make-up will look more dramatic for the first 3-7 days. You may choose to plan ahead for a little “down time”, though most clients return to their normal routine immediately following a procedure.

DOES IT HURT?

Topical anesthetics are applied to the skin before, and during the procedure to assure you of the most comfortable experience possible. Many clients describe the sensation as a “buzzing” feeling. On a scale of 1-10, most rate the discomfort between 0-3. A dental block is available to completely numb the area for lip procedures if requested.

HOW WILL I LOOK IMMEDIATELY AFTER MY TREATMENT?

Immediately after procedure your colour will appear darker and more intense, but will lighten with the healing process. Mild redness or swelling may occur for the first couple of days depending on the area treated; however normal activity can be resumed immediately following the procedure.

HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE TO RECOVER?

Generally, the colour will be most visible for the first three days. You may also experience light to moderate swelling, especially with eyeliner and lip procedures. After the initial three days, the healing skin will begin to gently flake off and the treated area will lighten. In many cases it may be too light so as our guarantee to achieve the best possible results for you, 2 weeks after your initial treatment we offer a second treatment completely free of charge to refine and perfect.

ARE THERE ANY SIDE EFFECTS OR RISKS?

Since all treatments require a patch test this eliminates the possibility for any type of allergic reaction. Swelling is normal and will pass very quickly usually subsiding after the first or second day. Because this is an invasive procedure, there are risks as well as benefits this includes infection to treated areas Dunja adheres to all Health & Safety guidelines, and her vast levels of experience ensure that any risks are minimized in her safe hands.
